$80,000 in Medical Supplies on its way to Uganda
Thanks to the help of MedWish International, Sawa Leader Dr. Robert and the African Community Center for Social Sustainability (ACCESS) is preparing to receive a container filled with much needed medical supplies to support Dr. Robert’s work. Approximately $80,000USD worth of medical supplies is expected to arrive on August 19th, 2010. Partners for ACCESS, The Mary A. Tidlund Foundation and AMJ Campbell International have been instrumental in coordinating the shipment details to ensure that the medical container arrives safely in Uganda.
Dr. Robert says, “This equipment means we will be able to see more patients locally. Currently, many patients are referred to hospitals in far away Kampala which results in people going untreated or prematurely opting for a palliative care approach. It will also allow us to attract and train more health workers to work with ACCESS.”
