Meet One of Uganda's Most Entrepreneurial Woman
Sawa Spark Margaret Ndekera has an incredible entrepreneurial spirit, which has propelled her to start up API LTD - a company that supports local Ugandans to farm honeybees, make shoes from recycled tires, and create paper beads for necklaces and earrings. Moneys raised from these efforts have provided farmers enough income to offset costs of the needed equipment. In 1979, Margaret was one of twenty women in a university of 1000 men who completed her education from Kyambogo University. Two months after she graduated, Margaret’s parents were murdered. In order to sustain her family, Margaret became self-employed. Margaret’s drive to help her family has expanded to her community, where she interacts with more than 1 million people in her effort to help them earn diversified, year round income.
