Sawa Club Members Offer New Ideas

Over 50 students from Mpoma Royal College in Uganda recently met with the Sawa World team to test a new Sawa World Club manual and share ideas for keeping club members energized and enthusiastic.

After watching the videos produced by Sawa Youth Reporters about Sawa Leaders and Sparks and their innovative solutions to ending extreme poverty, students shared ideas on how to apply the solutions in their own communities –  such as hosting presentations about Sawa World, having discussions and debates with other Clubs and doing a community clean-up every week to give back to the community.

“The visit showed me that our model is working,” says Sawa World's Founder, Daphne Nederhorst. “The kids are starting to explore how to implement the solutions seen in the videos. Very exciting!”

Club members are key to our efforts to spread and promote replication of home-grown solutions to extreme poverty. Keep updated on the Sawa World Club activities by following Sawa World on Facebook and Twitter.
