Sawa World’s Daphne Nederhorst A Finalist For The Waislitz Global Citizen Award!

Sawa World’s founder, Daphne Nederhorst, was recently announced as one of four finalists for the prestigious Waislitz Global Citizen Award. The award, which will be presented in New York in late September, recognizes social entrepreneurs that have demonstrated a proven track record of demonstrating global citizenship, impact, innovation, and potential.
The award winner will receive a $100,000 prize to further their poverty reduction efforts. For Sawa World, the prize would empower 150,000 marginalized youth in East Africa with five local skills to start their own businesses instantly.
Daphne will be traveling to New York on September 23rd to attend innovation labs, workshops and networking with global leaders leading up to the September 26th award ceremony. Before she packs her bags for New York City, Daphne and Sawa World need you to cast your vote before September 16th!
