Sawa World and TechnoServe Skills Project Reaches Almost 500 Youth
We at Sawa World are proud to share the results of another successfully completed project! Working alongside NGO TechnoServe in Northern and Central Uganda, Sawa World recently trained a total of 494 youth and local staff as part of the TechnoServe Skills Training Project. The Skills Training Project is an initiative sponsored by the NGO aimed at promoting innovative and effective business solutions to poverty.
During the project’s duration from November 2015 to January 2016, Sawa World trained youth from the Gulu, Lira, Arua, Luweero, and Mukono townships to replicate several Sawa World Solutions. Of the numerous Solutions training offered, replication of sandals, eco-fuel briquettes, stoves, and candles proved to be the most popular. In addition to learning valuable skills, the youth reported having a great time replicating Solutions, and over 75% reported that they would share their newly gained knowledge within their communities!
It’s wonderful to have the Sawa World Solutions being replicated far and wide, and to see so many lifted out of poverty from the Solutions they replicated. Learn more about TechnoServe here, and look out for more exciting replication news soon!
