Daphne Nederhorst Nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award
On June 16th, Daphne Nederhorst, Amber Robinson and Raul Jimenez Navarro from the Sawa Global team attended the nomination reception in downtown Vancouver of the 2010 Entrepreneur Of The Year® awards.
Daphne Nederhorst has been nominated in the Social Entrepreneur category which is defined as, “someone who created and leads an organization that drives large-scale social change.” Daphne remains modest in light of being nominated for what’s often referred to as the world’s most prestigious business award. “This nominated goes out to the entire Sawa Global team and organization. It’s with their support that we’re able to make systemic change and provide a voice to leaders in the world’s 50 poorest countries.”
The award attracts Canada’s top social and business leaders and entrepreneurs. Daphne is recognized for her leadership, achievements and her vision of growing Sawa Global to a global scale while finding a new approach to solving extreme poverty for 1 billion people. The finalists will be awarded at the Pacific Entrepreneur of the Year® Awards Gala on September 28th in Vancouver, British Columbia.
