About Harriet

Harriet Nakabaale, a single mother, always knew that given the chance and space, that she would grow vegetables as her mom had done before her. Little did she know that her entrepreneurial gardening endeavor would also help support her children’s education and health. That is just what she has done through Camp Green. Camp Green, where Harriet is the Executive Director, has transformed from a landscape of stone and rubbish to a flourishing garden and farm. By reusing household rubbish, Harriet has produced an urban garden and farm that helps to empower those living with low incomes and limited space within Uganda. She has shared her message and skills with over 100,000 people in her community.
